Our tour begins in the central Plaza de San Fernando, the historic heart of Carmona and once a Roman forum. From there, we visit Town Hall, the impressive Priory Church of Santa María (also called the "Cathedral of Carmona"), the Monastery of Santa Clara, and the Convent of Las Descalzas. This route is a great way to start your visit to Carmona.
Next, we walk to the impressive Plaza de Abastos, formerly a convent and today a lively hub filled with the sounds of vendors and the aromas of fresh produce. Then we continue to the striking Córdoba Gate and the Alcázar of King Don Pedro, now transformed into a Parador hotel. From this vantage point, we can admire panoramic views stretching over the Vega de Carmona, allowing us to appreciate the expanse of fertile fields and the distinctive cityscape.
Along the way, we explore some of Carmona's most notable palaces and stately homes, visit the City Museum, and learn about the Carmo coin, which shows Carmona's unique right to mint its own currency. We also talk about local food, especially the traditional torta inglesa and alboronía, and highlight the city's main festivals. This tour gives you plenty of reasons to join us.
We end at the Sevilla Gate and the Church of San Pedro, where you can see the unique "Giraldilla." We do the tour in small groups, and I will share insider tips to help you enjoy Carmona. There is also a surprise gift at the end, so book your spot and enjoy the experience.
