The old bridge (Stari Most) is also known as the arching stone bridge spanning over Neretva river it’s the heart of the old town, with a great view during sunset!

For those wanting a truly unique experience, try seeing locals dive from the Stari Most into the cold waters of Mostar’s river.
This thrill seeking activity has been taking place in Mostar for over 450 years! While divers will usually just do tricks and show off for their tips, some are brave enough to offer diving lessons to tourists too.
- Explore the Old Bazaar (Kujundžiluk)
The cobblestone streets are lined with shops where you can purchase everything from handmade copperware and jewelry to rugs and souvenirs.

One of my favorite half day trips from Mostar is Blagaj with its beautiful Blagaj Tekke (a 16th century Dervish Monastery that was carved out of a cliff at the source of the Buna river). One of the most peaceful and scenic areas in the region.

Spring (April - June) and early autumn (September - October) offer pleasant weather that's perfect for exploring the city while dodging tourist crowds.
July & August make up the busy season, featuring high temperatures over 35°C / 95°F. While these months bring the heat, they're also prime time for cooling off by taking a swim in the river or waterfalls.
Where to Stay in Mostar
From boutique guesthouses with views over the most famous bridge in the city’s Old Town, to modern apartments close by some of Mostar’s top attractions, there really is an option to suit your budget. If you want to experience all the restaurants, shops and nightclubs on offer in the area around the Old Bridge, then staying here will put you right where things happen. But bear in mind that this part of town can get pretty busy (and quite loud) when it comes to the summer months if peace and quiet are important to you, try booking somewhere a little out of the way from the historic centre.
How many days do I need in Mostar?
Most visitors manage to fit everything they want into 1-2 days in Mostar. A third day could allow you to take in day trip ideas such as the Kravice Waterfalls or visiting the other side of the river at Blagaj. However, most people who come to visit Mostar have a bigger plan for their Bosnia and Herzegovina holiday, often including a combination of places such as Sarajevo, Blagaj and even one of the coastal cities in Croatia, like Dubrovnik or Split all of which are within easy reach, driving distance wise!
